RESPONSIBILITIES:The incumbent will be responsible for:Presenting lectures to undergraduate as well as postgraduate students in the Animal Science modules;Supervision of postgraduate students at Masters and Doctoral levels;Contributing to the Institutional research theme on Animal Anatomy and Production Physiology.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:MSc (Agric) in Animal Science or BVSc specialising in Functional Animal Anatomy and Production Physiology;Professional registration with SACNASP/SA Veterinary Society;Lecturing experience in the specific disciplines at undergraduate and post graduate levels;Research output skills and/or a proven record of research publications in accredited journals as appropriate for the relevant level of appointment, specifically in the field of functional animal anatomy and production and reproduction physiology.REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):Appropriate language and communication skills;Good interpersonal skills;Conflict management skills.The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbents level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines. UP subscribes to the BESTMED and UMVUZO medical aid schemes and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.
