Looking for someone who has sweated behind the line, sweated over the books, sweated more shift changes than you can count.  Someone who has apologized to the dining room when the kitchen crashed but was also the person you “had to know” to get a table on a Saturday night. We know you have to live it to get it - that’s why we don’t hire salespeople who have to learn about restaurants, we hire restaurant people who are open to a new craft and their next chapter.


If you’ve run a restaurant, you know how many emails, phone calls and rep drop-ins you must sift through. You also know that most of what they are pushing isn’t worth the time to hear them out.  We are different - and we only hire people who viscerally appreciate how sacred time in a restaurant GM or owner’s schedule is -and also know that what we are telling them about is worth their time to listen.


While we are an Arlington/DC-based company, we are looking for new members of our sales team to be based in San Francisco, Seattle, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Chicago, Houston or Dallas. This is currently a work-from-home position, however, when Covid is in our rear-view mirror you will be calling on restaurants in your area in person - bringing donuts to restaurants, trading restaurant war stories and adding a whole lot of empathy to the conversation.


Oh yeah, we also offer hours that don’t involve 2am inventory followed by opening the restaurant the next morning. Your phone number will not be on our “call out” list and you will largely work when the rest of the world does - which is, dare we say, freaking awesome.


Pay: $50,000 base salary + uncapped commission

Role:

From your home office, you’ll...

  • Contact restaurant owners across the country to excite them about our platform and “help us help them.” Our goal is to give restaurant managers and owners daily visibility into their Prime Costs, so there are no surprises at the end of the month.
  • Generate your own business (we are making great strides with lead generation, but that will be the gravy, you make your own steak).
  • Execute discovery calls or meetings (listen), then a web-based demo (listen some more and talk a little bit).
  • Adhere to predefined activity metrics (includes calls, emails and visiting restaurants).
  • Stay organized because you are serious about using our database platform (Salesforce) every day.


Have to Haves:

  • You are a former restaurant general manager or owner with 3+ years of experience (bonus points for experience with a national or regional multi-unit restaurant chain)
  • Admin duties and professional, succinct writing skills are requirements, perhaps higher than in your past restaurant positions. A writing sample will be required.
  • Following your career running restaurants, you are open to your next career- a craft different than your previous, but a craft, nonetheless.
  • Shifting from restaurant ops to sales, you’re still happy to work hard, and thrilled to be doing it during traditional business hours.
  • Respect for process, personalization, and relevance.
  • You love being a part of a team.  Every day we say, “we win together” (yeah it sounds corny when we say it, but we say it anyway)
  • You love restaurants. Everybody loves restaurants but you really love restaurants.


Nice to Haves:

  • From your restaurant experience, you know that sales cures all and that every minute a manager is in the office is a minute that they are not with staff and / or guests.
  • You know the right time to join a company.
  • Hospitality tech-sales experience.
  • If you do have previous sales experience, you love using a CRM system.
    • OK, well “like” using a CRM system.
      • OK, well you use it.
        • No seriously, you do. Every day, all day.
  • You are curious. You are constantly trying to learn and improve in your craft.
  • You have a hobby / passion. You love something other than your current job!
