Manager, First Aid Program

Position Title: First Aid Program Manager

Basic Function:

Develops and executes the First Aid strategic plan and participates in recruiting and retaining members.

Specific Responsibilities:

1. Works with Vice President to establish and implement goals, strategies and programs aimed at the expansion of First Aid services, courses, AED and product sales.

2. Develops and monitors budget for First Aid program.

3. Recruits, monitors and evaluates First Aid instructors.

4. Writes and distributes a regular e-communication to First Aid instructors.

5. Builds participation by members in First Aid programs.

6. Coordinates First Aid open-enrollment classes including promotion, scheduling instructors and facilities, arranging for course materials, and other details as required.

7. Places and coordinates delivery of onsite customized First Aid/ CPR/AED classes.

8. Become the lead trainer of Instructor Development Courses.

9. Works with Communications Manager to promote First Aid offerings.

10. Takes the lead in developing content for and promoting the First Aid section of the Minnesota Safety Council Web site.

11. Expands sale of services and products to members and customers.

12. Maintains First Aid records as requested by Vice President sufficient for communication, enhanced service and control.

13. Represents the Minnesota Safety Council on committees and task forces and at corporate, trade and community events as requested by the Vice President

14. Performs all other duties assigned.

Internal Relationships:

Reports to MSC Vice President; is a part of the Member Services team and works closely with other staff members. Works across teams to facilitate member services.
Communicates frequently with other staff.

External Relationships:

Communicates regularly with First Aid/Emergency Care instructors and National Safety
Council. Represents the Minnesota Safety Council on communities and groups as requested by MSC Vice President.

Essential Skills/Talents

Experienced at and can demonstrate success in:

  • Ability to learn and demonstrate knowledge of first aid practices, rules and regulations; and the ability to interpret them for members and others.
  • Experience providing training.
  • First Aid Instructor experience of at least three years preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication, including public speaking and training.
  • Client relationship management, including active listening to determine client needs.
  • Group meeting facilitation.
  • Time management and effectively setting and executing against priorities.
  • Developing and nurturing strong professional partnerships with members, customers, regulatory agencies, vendors and instructors.
  • Recruiting and managing instructor involvement.
  • Communicating by telephone, e-mail and in person to get results

Job Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)

Experience: Three to five years of experience in sales, customer service or business development.
