Accounts Payable Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
In terms of day to day work, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing cash flow and accounts payable aging
  • Ensuring all payments are properly recorded and approved in accordance with internal controls over financial reporting
  • Working directly with “C” level approvers
  • Working closely with purchasing and operations personnel to establish effective routines for vendor set up and purchase order issuance
  • Responding, establishing and managing impeccable processes for handling vendor inquiries
  • Reviewing and approving employee expenses by applying the corporate travel policy while adhering to the regulatory requirements for data collection
  • Managing regulatory reporting under the Sunshine Act, etc.
  • Managing corporate credit card processes
  • Data entry, when volumes are at higher capacity

In terms of project improvement work, your responsibilities will include:

  • Increasing expediency in invoice processing by driving automation and systematic changes
  • Improving aging reporting
  • Establishing sound routines in the closing process resulting in efficient accrual processes
  • Playing a critical role in the implementation of a new ERP system
  • Working with system administrators of the employee expense system to update and improve audit rules for end users

Education and Required Experience:
You’ll need you to have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, business Administration, or an equivalent as well as 2-4 years of accounting management experience and 5+ years of accounts payable experience. Experience we are looking for includes:

  • Prior experience working with an ERP system utilizing an AP module and an expense reporting system, such as Concur, is required
  • Solid knowledge and experience working with GAAP
  • SOX knowledge and experience
  • Experience with the principals and practices of accounting computer applications
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to manage and complete projects with time constraints

Critical to your success in this position is having the ability to influence, build and maintain positive relationships with management, your peers and subordinates. You’ll need to be solution oriented and demonstrate strong systems thinking and problem solving skills as well.
