What we need…

Andersen Construction is seeking an energetic, self-motivated Estimator that requires the following essential functions and major responsibilities: In our Seattle Office.

Looking to hire a person interested in the estimating career path of construction. The position is to support the existing estimators and systems within the estimating department with the expectation of growth into running own small projects and working to run ground up estimates.

What you’ll do here…

  • Manage subcontractor database and invitation to bid process
  • Sending Invitation to Bid to subcontractors and develops working Bid Package strategy based on qualified subcontractors.
  • Help maintains current, accurate information on prices from suppliers and contractors through direct contact and written materials
  • Will take the lead in developing lump sum estimates for smaller projects or provide support to Sr. Estimator in estimating IFC documents on large, complex project.
  • Attend site visits for bidding purposes and develops “estimating lessons learned” database
  • Perform quantity takeoffs
  • Budget estimates on specific scopes for larger projects
  • Verify subcontractor bids match project scope
  • Build project specific items in scope sheets
  • Assemble bid packages
  • Compile Bid Binders
  • Demonstrate proficiency with the following programs:

  • Timberline Estimating Software
  • BlueBeam
  • CMiC
  • Microsoft Office Suite

  • Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task.
  • BS degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture preferred.
  • Minimum of a two-year professional or technical degree is required with a minimum of two or more years of cost accounting or construction accounting experience.
  • Ability to travel as required. While most of Andersen’s projects are local to the main office, infrequent travel may be required on a project by project basis.
