Class A Hostler, Jockey, Switcher, Weekly Pay, $21

Yard Hostler – Class A
$21 Per Hour

Monday - 9:00am - 7:00pm
Tuesday - 9:00am - 7:00pm
Wednesday - Off
Thursday - 9:00am - 7:00pm
Friday - 9:00am - 7:00pm
Saturday - 2pm - 2:30am
Sunday - Off

Hostlers Duties:

  • Yard hostlers will drive and maneuver yard goat & trailers from dock to dock switching out empty trailers with full trailers to keep production moving.
  • Safety is always the key, so driver must be safety minded, perform pre and post trips daily, chock rear wheels and be aware of safety hazards in all weather conditions and check trailers before pulling away from the dock doors.
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment, moving approximately 40-80 moves per shift, with a VERY tight yard and the ability to work in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain and wind).
  • Yard drivers must have strong communication skills as they will be interacting and taking direction from dispatchers, or warehouse managers on a consistent basis through radio and on board computer system.

Job Requirements:

  • 22 years of age or older.
  • Valid Class A License
  • 1 year or more of yard goat experience within the past 3 years.
  • Driver may not exceed any combination of 3 moving violations or preventable accidents on their MVR in the past 36 months.
  • No DUI’S / Reckless Driving in the last 5 years.
