BANQUET CAPTAIN – JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Communicate service needs to chefs and stewards throughout functions. Total charges for group functions, prepare and present checks to group contacts for finalization using company program CI.  Records transactions in MICROS when applicable. Track and manage all consumption pertaining to Event Checks.  Ensure banquet rooms, restaurants, and coffee breaks are ready for service 15min prior to event time and set per Banquet Event Orders and company standards. Inspect the cleanliness and presentation of all china, glass, and silver prior to use. Manage event from start to finish, check in with guests to ensure satisfaction throughout and be present to ensure reliable communication. Set tables according to type of event and service standards. Ensure proper centerpieces are displayed on every table. Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen. Responsible to create and manage banquet schedule, working with the team to staff events properly based on associate availability. Conduct one on one stand ups with the banquet team prior to all events to provide Banquet Event Orders and associate assignments based on day of events. Work diligently to look ahead and plan accordingly based on events and staffing. Order rentals/equipment required per events based on Banquet Event Order requirements. Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day. Adhere to closing duties upon completion of events, any furniture moved must be returned to its original location. All event spaces & public areas are to be walked throughout the event and cleaned before team’s departure.

  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards. Speak with others using clear and professional language, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time indoors or outdoors.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors
  • Attention to customer service with a professional and pleasant personality.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
