Lead FPGA Designer (able to obtain security clearance)

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced FPGA/Hardware Engineer to lead development of new cutting-edge Ground Electronic Warfare (GEW) products while supporting existing product improvements. Bring your experience in architecting FPGA Designs as well as implementation and verification to advance state of the art applications supporting Electronic Attack, Electronic Protection and Electronic Support.

Essential Functions:

  • Create FPGA system architectures and specifications.
  • Innovate new ideas and explore new technologies
  • Coordinate FPGA system design, implementation, verification, integration and validation activities.
  • Support bid and proposal activities along with customer and internal presentations.
  • Analyze results and build data to identify root cause issues and trends.
  • Manage medium and large-scale individual projects
  • Mentor junior engineers and coworkers.
  • May require 10% travel.


  • Bachelors Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience
  • Proficiency in VHDL or Verilog RTL coding for FPGA synthesis and verification
  • Experience with Agile Development Methods and Tools
  • Experience with Xilinx Vivado tool suite for implementation, timing closure and debug
  • Experience in a lab debug environment for interfaces such as DDR3, DDR4, I2C, SPI, or RS232.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • An active US Security Clearance
  • Familiarity with MATLAB, C, and C++ programming
  • Scripting language experience such as TCL/TK, Python, etc.
  • Digital Signal Processing Experience
  • Board level design and debug
  • Experience with Xilinx Platform Studio and EDK
  • Experience with lab equipment (Oscilloscopes / Spec-A / Sig-Gen)
