Sales Perform & Support Exec

Job Description:

The Sales Performance & Support Executive (SPSE) reports to the Business Banking Chief Operating Officer and leads and manages sales performance and support strategies and execution for the assigned region.  The SPSE is a member of the regional leadership team, working closely with the National Sales Performance Executive and regional Sales Performance Manager to drive sales force effectiveness for the region. Participates in strategic plan development and execution. Provides risk & compliance execution at the regional/specialty business level. Also acts as a business advisor for LOB executives, managing key business partner relationships, and acts as a liaison between client, client team, service and fulfillment partners. Ensures leaders have tools, reporting and inspection processes to drive business objectives (including LOB reporting and dashboards). Leads reporting and analytical efforts to deepen understanding of business economics, market opportunities, client attrition and client profitability.  Manages teams of Sales Support Associates and oversees day-to-day activities related to business, operational and sales support.

Summary:

  • Escalate region-specific activities that do not align with national goals for appropriate action

  • Communicate region-specific best practices with national team to share across regions

  • Uses data to drive decisions

Key Functions:
Trusted Advisor to the Regional Executive:

  • Counsel to the Regional Executive to think nationally and execute locally, in development and inspection of market strategic plans, including targeted sales plays.

  • Integrate national BB strategic plans, objectives, messages, and projects for the region

  • Manage regional strategic routines, messages, and projects and providing the RE with updates and escalations on critical matters

  • Develop and proactively manage the annual business plan for the region and tactics for course correcting/addressing issues

  • Advise the RE on talent management and hiring particularly in key regional leadership roles

  • Maintain key information on various market dynamics across the region

  • Prepare the RE for strategic meetings with the Head of Business Banking, business leaders, etc.

  • Manage key partnerships across the region: SB, treasury, credit, treasury operations, technology, marketing & comms, market president network

  • Provide RM/local market feedback mechanism to Business Banking leadership

Oversight of Sales Performance Management & Data:

  • Manages the Sales Performance of the region from business development and performance management to the sales support associates.

  • Direct management of the sales support teams for the region

  • Lead all efforts surrounding Sales performance inspection routines and measurement from a data-driven perspective (e.g., calling stats, pipeline rules & stats, call note completions, etc.) to ensure accurate and timely reporting

  • Lead business integration performance monitoring and measurement

  • Ensure and promote optimal implementation of sales tools to the region (e.g. Digital Assistant, Peer Profiler, etc.)

  • Org Health: Continuously review market gearing to ensure optimal client experience and efficiency

  • Ensure both sales and support teams receive development and ongoing training (e.g. Challenger)

  • Provide ongoing reporting to national leadership and the RE on progress against activities and goals as well as plans to address any shortcomings

Oversight of Client Planning:

  • Organizes efforts that support the research of new client acquisition and existing client relationship deepening; including dotted line oversight over commercial associates.

  • Oversee maintenance of the book of clients across the region by market and ongoing review of that book including where clients should move across the continuum, client sales, etc.

  • Oversight of prospect identification & prioritization for each region and market

  • Development and maintenance of client profiles (captured by RM via DA in Challenger calls)

  • Oversee Regional Client Education and marketing sessions e.g. Regional Advisory Councils

  • Mining of Client Feedback: COI and local client roundtables and regional event strategy

Business Operations/Risk Management:

  • Manages efforts to service existing clients (e.g. request new account opening, overdraft monitoring, wire escalations), manage KYC and risks to the business through management of the sales support managers.

  • Oversight of business operations execution (e.g. account opening)

  • Management of the AML/KYC outreach processes for the region

  • Escalation of key risk issues or processes for the region and support of risk mitigation efforts

  • Oversight of business support activities, such as business continuity, facilities management, access management

  • Manage ongoing sales support expenses and client engagement expenses
