Job Description

In the Driver Assistant role, you will play a key role in assuring our compliance with regulations by accompanying a Driver on customer collection routes, video recording the destruction process of DEA controlled substances and uploading these videos into our system. You will assist the Driver with loading containers and supplies for daily service stops, complete required paperwork, and you may assist in maintaining inventory and storage. You may need to drive a non-DOT regulated vehicle to customer sites to witness the collection process on occasion.

This position requires 2-4 overnights per week (Mon-Fri). You will be provided with a company card to pay for a hotel and given a daily stipend to cover food and other expenses. All drivers are guaranteed to be home on the weekends.

Job Details

·         Act as a witness at customer locations where DEA controlled substances are involved.

·         Ride along with a CDL Driver to assist with duties at their stops.

·         Video the destruction process of DEA controlled substances and upload video into employer system.

·         Requires up to 75% overnight travel based on routes

·         Load containers and supplies to truck for daily service stops

·         May assist in maintaining inventory and storage of hazardous materials in accordance with appropriate regulations and policies, practices, and procedures.   

·         Follow all Health & Safety/Job Safety Analysis (JSA's) procedures as outlined in procedures and policies.   

·         Complete paperwork legibly, accurately, and in a timely manner.   

·         Performs related work and additional duties as requested or assigned by supervisor/manager.

·         Regular contact with external customers and different levels of personnel daily.

·         Candidate must meet all requirements for handling DEA regulated waste

·         Drive non-DOT regulated vehicle to customer sites to witness regulated waste collection as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

·         At least 18 years of age

·         High school diploma or GED. 

·         Understand, read, and write English

·         At least 6 months of warehouse experience

·         Able to repeatedly lift and carry up to 75 lbs.

·         Able to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods of time

·         Basic knowledge of Windows-based software (Word, Excel, etc)

·         Willing and able to wear company-provided personal protective equipment such as eye protection, foot protection, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator (as needed)

·         Clean driving record

·         Able to pass a DOT physical, drug test, and DEA background check

Preferred Qualifications

·         Experience working with hazardous materials

·         One or more years related experience

·         Knowledge OSHA Regulations.

·         Ability to operate a forklift 

·         Strong attention to detail

·         Ability to follow procedures
