WH2 Finishing Operator - Sewing

FULL-TIME

$11.50/hr

***Monthly Production Bonus***

-Read and follow assigned work orders to finish product according to customer specifications
-Operation of finishing tools and machines to include, but not limited to the following, industrial sewing machine, fabric welding machine and grommet machine
-Perform inspection of all received products looking for defects, quantity discrepancies, incorrect product, or any other quality and/or color issues
-Scan orders for processing using AS400 computer software
-Communicate with other department coordinators and expeditors to attend to any priority lines, as needed
-Communicate with CSR’s as needed for specialty details, questions or any other order issues
-Assist other areas in Warehouse 2 as time follows
-Prioritize work orders throughout shift based on ship date and labor time
-Perform other duties as required or assigned
-Report all unsafe activities to Plant Manager, Safety Director or Human Resources
-Be punctual and dependable; accountable for assigned work shift
-Comply with all safety and environmental rules, regulations and guidelines, including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements -
-Take direction from and communicate with others regardless of age, gender, race or religion
-Participate in cross-training within and outside of home department, as required; includes training to learn various machines/equipment, as well as providing training through sharing of knowledge and skill
-Perform general housekeeping duties to keep works areas clean and free of debris; also to include basic recycling of plant materials
-Dispose of hazardous and all other waste materials in accordance with regulatory procedures and policy
-Work overtime as requested
-Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
-Ability to be on your feet, standing and/or walking, for the duration of your shift
-Ability to identify and distinguish between colors
-Ability to perform such actions as bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, lifting, and performing repetitive motions throughout shift
-Handle material up to 50 pounds in weight
-Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment around machinery or equipment with moving parts
-Could be exposed to dust, noise or hazardous materials
-Good command of the English language, both written and verbal
-Good reading, spelling and comprehension
-Intermediate to strong math skills
-Ability to use hand and power tools
-Ability to take accurate measurements using rulers, tapes, gauges and other tools
-Basic computer skills
-Ability to take direction and work well with others

Schedule

Shift start: 2:30PM
Shift length: 9.75 hours; 9.25 hours; 4.5 hours
Mon-Wed 2:30PM - 12:15 AM; Thurs 2:30PM-11:45PM; Fri 2:30PM - 7:00PM
