Description

SAIC is seeking qualified candidates to support the US Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFMS) program.

AFMS is the premier agency responsible for implementation, integration, and development of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and training and analysis standards that support the US Air Force (USAF), Department of Defense (DoD), and mission partners requiring these capabilities to support the Warfighter in full-spectrum operations. As the lead agent for M&S within the USAF, AFMS gathers requirements, seeks out potential solutions, and integrates legacy and emerging M&S solutions across the USAF and the DoD. The USAF has an M&S initiative that focuses on providing simulation and synthetic training as the critical capability to augment live training, act as an enabler for critical decision-making, and enhance human performance. In the current resource constrained environment, demand for M&S rises with the continuously evolving need for operational readiness and mission preparedness across the USAF, DoD, and with coalition partners. AFMS focuses on providing innovative M&S services as the key to meeting this demand.

The role of this position is to support the Simulator Common Architecture Requirements and Standards (SCARS) team at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. The Systems Engineer will:

Provide technical expertise and engineering support to implement model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and other Digital Engineering (DE) practices for the SCARS program and AFLCMC/WNS:

  • Managing a collaborative modeling environment to support digital engineering activities for training system acquisition and sustainment within AFLCMC/WNS
  • Sustaining the WNS MBSE Style Guide to standardize model appearance, content, capabilities, and reports
  • Developing and supporting MBSE and DE training
  • Modeling training systems in SysML
  • Reviewing documentation to ensure compliance with DE practices
  • Assisting WNS engineering staff with review and interpretation of systems models

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency with MBSE style guides

  • Strong proficiency and experience in modeling training systems in SysML

  • Familiarity with CAMEO Enterprise Architecture product

  • Previous experience training on MBSE

  • Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.

  • Active Secret security clearance is required
