As our Construction Manager within the Generation PMO team, you’ll be responsible for delivering and completing capital and non-routine projects using your construction management related experience.  You’ll also have oversight and responsibility of multiple projects through the project life cycle at any time with a focus on maintaining scope, cost, schedule and safety.  No matter the situation, safety is always a top priority, and the ultimate goal is to hit your deliverables while ensuring every employee and personnel on-site stays safe.
 

In this role, you will:
  • Work to deliver projects safely, efficiently and effectively.
  • Manage multiple projects at various stages in the life-cycle as required within the PMO portfolio.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure the scope, progress and completion of projects are on track.
  • Compile accurate and detailed construction/project timelines and plans.
  • Maintain project execution budgets and scopes.
  • Work first hand with business units and support them with any accounts payable and/or business process-related support requirements.
     
In year 1, you will:
  • Work to deliver projects safely, efficiently and effectively.
  • Manage multiple projects at various stages in the life-cycle as required within the PMO portfolio.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure the scope, progress and completion of projects are on track.
  • Compile accurate and detailed construction/project timelines and plans.
  • Maintain project execution budgets and scopes.
  • Work first hand with business units and support them with any accounts payable and/or business process-related support requirements.
     
In year 2, you will:
  • Focus on a major capital project and/or continue to manage multiple projects with increased responsibility and impact.
  • Continue to build strong relationships and develop partnerships with stakeholders within and beyond the organization.
  • Develop a strong sense of customer service when delivering on projects.
  • Provide input into continuous improvement changes to the PMO programs and processes
     
What it takes:
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Extraordinary communication skills 
  • A passion for collaborating with others to problem solve
  • A university degree with a minimum of 3-5 years supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education (trade/technologist certification), training and experience, with supplementary education in project management, finance or accounting.
  • Electrical utility experience in project construction
  • Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Office programs and SAP
