Position summary

T-Mobile USA is a leading provider of digital GSM/GPRS, UMTS, and LTE wireless voice and data technology standards. Principal Architects, Domain located in Bellevue, WA will utilize knowledge of the payments industry and payments flow for various payments methods.

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for managing the solution portfolio throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with development to deliver scalable best in class capabilities.
  • Ensure that the product and marketing efforts support the company's overall strategy and goals from a payments perspective.
  • Create High Level Solution Design (HLSD) in support of Enterprise Projects and present HLSD to Principal leadership during Capital Assessment reviews.
  • Develop proofs-of-concept and prototypes to help illustrate approaches to technology and business problems.
  • Work with development, infrastructure, test, and production support teams to ensure the proper implementation of solutions.
  • Lead architects and team members by coaching them around the areas of their domain function.
  • Lead the definition of technical architecture for payments capability.
  • Possess, maintain, and grow comprehensive technical knowledge of Web, IVR, Retail payment solutions.
  • Assist in the strategic planning and execution of Service Oriented and Microservice Payment Architecture strategies.
  • Ensure implementation quality, provisioning efficiency and customer usability.
  • Lead decisions for new technologies, judging the benefits of each option across multiple decision criteria, and recommend options that will deliver enhanced value to the customers while providing a solution architecture that will maintain quality, cost controls, and enhance strategic flexibility.
  • Develop detailed specifications for new features and enhancements, and UI and process flow diagrams with sample input/output API strategies.
  • Define product specifications and roadmaps in collaboration with external and internal customers to prioritize solution development and deployment.

Minimum Qualifications
Skill requirements:
  • (1) Architecting and designing payments solutions that are PCI compliant; interacting with billing, SAP, EIP and Finance platforms per payment industry standards.
  • (2) Building digital payments solutions using Cloud Infrastructure (AWS, PCF, Beanstalk, Lambda, and Redis), CICD implementation (Stash, Jenkins, Puppet, and Artifactory), Enterprise systems (APIGEE and TIBCO), Enterprise Architecture Frameworks, and payments domain expertise.
  • (3) Implementing solution security by promoting Secure Solution development based on OAuth and JWT, as well as performing technical activities including code review, vulnerability analysis, thread modeling, source code remediation, and patching.
  • (4) Implementing automated unit and synthetic testing (Junit and Selenium), service virtualization (CA Service virtualization tool), performance and operational monitoring (AppDynamics and CA Wily), and dashboarding (SPLUNK and Tableau) for customer facing UI (desktop and mobile) applications.
  • (5) Articulating business and technology strategy using SDLC Tools (Rally and JIRA) with development, business, and marketing organizations.
  • (6) Delivering technology strategy roadmaps by modeling as-is and to-be architectures using VISIO and Enterprise Architect Sparx and ArchiMate based on business requirements in the wireless industry.

Experience and education requirements:

PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Electronic Engineering or related, and 5 years of relevant work experience.

ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Electronic Engineering or related, and 7 years of relevant work experience.
