The Opportunity
We are seeking a Mine Surveyor on a permanent basis to join our Underground Mining team at Sunrise Dam Gold Mine. The role is offered on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth and/or Kalgoorlie.
About the Role
- Maintain a strong safety focus and ensure compliance with company and statutory requirements.
- Establish, verify, and maintain the underground survey control network.
- Plan, prioritise, and deliver survey activities to support underground development, production, drilling, and mine planning requirements.
- Conduct accurate as‑built surveys, vertical void scanning, mine model updates, and development reporting.
- Collect and process autonomous UAV stope void surveys.
- Liaise closely with other technical teams and mining contractors to provide accurate and timely survey information.
- Monitor and maintain the pit wall slope monitoring system and report any suspected wall movement.
- Use innovative survey technology and digital solutions to deliver accurate, timely, and efficient survey information.
- Engage in surface survey activities (UAV surveys, stockpile volume reporting, surface control, excavation permits, construction surveying, tailings deposition, and structural monitoring).
Qualifications
- Bachelor or Advanced Diploma in Mine Surveying or a higher qualification.
- A Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) is highly regarded.
- Authorised mine surveyor’s certificate (grade 1) or working towards this is preferred.
- Two or more years of working experience in underground mining is preferred.
- Experience with both underground and surface remotely piloted aircraft systems preferred.
- Previous experience in underground mine or engineering surveying is highly regarded.
- High level of computer proficiency with extensive experience using surveying software.
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.
- Familiarity with the latest Leica and Trimble survey equipment.
- Strong practical, planning, and prioritising skills, with the ability to build on previous experience.
- Innovative and driven, with a demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, and developing a high‑performing survey team.
- Western Australian C class Manual Driver’s Licence.
- Existing Australian working rights (mandatory).
