About the Role

We are seeking a full‑time Dispatch Officer to join the Courier operations team based in Woodville, SA. The role is responsible for optimising fleet productivity across pick‑ups and deliveries, ensuring permanent and ad‑hoc runs are allocated efficiently and fairly, and maintaining a strong customer focus.

Working hours are 9:00am–5:00pm, with some flexibility required to cover leave and support the AM shift from time to time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Allocate permanent and ad‑hoc runs using a computerised dispatch system
  • Ensure vehicles and driver capacity are aligned to daily operational needs
  • Route deliveries and communicate run orders for key customers
  • Accept, book, and allocate jobs with accurate and complete information
  • Monitor and communicate delays, issues, and service impacts promptly
  • Record and update driver hours, waiting times, and job adjustments daily
  • Support invoicing accuracy based on operational data
  • Ensure compliance with company and legislative requirements
  • Support driver onboarding, including TED unit training and usage compliance
  • Contribute to safety and HSE requirements, including reporting and incident management

About You

  • Organised, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced transport environment
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to manage competing priorities, and effective communication with drivers, customers, and internal teams
  • Experience in dispatch, transport coordination, or logistics operations
  • Strong understanding of fleet allocation and route planning
  • Strong administrative and data accuracy skills
  • Ability to manage time‑critical tasks under pressure
  • Customer‑focused mindset with strong communication skills
  • Familiarity with transport compliance and CoR principles (desirable)
