Medical/Rehab Ward Part Time Registered Nurse
Peninsula Private Hospital seeks a part‑time Registered Nurse to work within the Medical/Rehab Department for 60 hrs per fortnight. The role involves delivering clinical leadership and supporting safety and quality for patients and the multidisciplinary team.
About the role
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will lead and support nursing staff on the Medical/Rehab Ward, ensuring evidence‑based care, effective communication, and patient‑centred decision making.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and coordinate safe, high‑quality, evidence‑based nursing care.
- Support and mentor nursing staff in line with scope of practice, education and experience.
- Provide clinical guidance and escalation support to junior staff.
- Collaborate closely with Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs) to ensure safe, efficient and coordinated care delivery.
- Promote effective communication within the multidisciplinary team.
- Work in partnership with patients and families to support shared decision‑making.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, accreditation preparation and clinical governance activities.
- Support effective patient flow and operational efficiency.
Key Qualifications
- Current AHPRA registration.
- FIM trained.
- IV cannulation experience.
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Registered Nurse in a Medical/Rehab setting.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver safe, high‑quality patient‑centred care.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and clinical excellence.
