Description

If you think BIM is more than clash detection, keep reading.

At Autonomation, we don’t believe Digital Engineering is about policing models or enforcing standards in isolation. We believe it’s about helping project teams succeed, by understanding how buildings are actually designed, coordinated, built, and handed over.

We’re looking for a Digital Engineering / BIM Coordinator who has real AEC project exposure, understands how live projects operate, and wants to grow their capability in coordination, collaboration, and digital delivery.

This role is ideal for someone early in their DE/BIM journey who enjoys being hands‑on, working closely with project teams, and contributing to better project outcomes through practical application of BIM, both in the office and on site.

Location: Hybrid – Brisbane

Why this role is different

  • We value AEC experience first, technology second
  • We focus on outcomes, not just compliance
  • We support and enable stakeholders, not just enforce standards
  • We work across design, construction, and delivery
  • We combine consulting, software, automation, and data

Your focus will be on supporting coordination and improving delivery outcomes, not just running clash tests. You’ll work alongside experienced BIM Managers and project teams, gaining real exposure to coordination workflows, model quality, and site verification processes.

Some of the things you could be doing

  • Run and support coordination meetings with project teams
  • Carry out clash detection and track issues through to resolution
  • Undertake structured model audits to improve quality and compliance
  • Work closely with designers, engineers, and contractors to coordinate models
  • Assist in implementing BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and digital workflows
  • Maintain organisation and quality within a Common Data Environment (CDE)
  • Prepare coordination outputs, reports, and visualisations
  • Attend site to support verification activities and validate models against constructed works
  • Help identify coordination risks and opportunities to reduce rework
  • Learn and apply ISO 19650 principles in live project environments
  • Contribute to improving internal tools, templates, and guidance material
  • Work with Autonomation’s team across software, data, and automation initiatives

What we’re looking for

Experience & Background

  • Experience working on AEC projects (design and/or construction)
  • Exposure to BIM workflows within real project environments
  • Understanding of how models are used in coordination and delivery
  • Experience working with consultants, contractors, or project-based teams
  • Exposure to services coordination or multidisciplinary design is beneficial

Technical Capability

  • Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud
  • Experience using tools such as Revit, Navisworks, or Revizto
  • Understanding of coordination workflows, clash detection, and model checking
  • Comfort working within a Common Data Environment (CDE)

The differentiators

  • Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with project teams
  • A proactive attitude and attention to detail
  • Willingness to step into meetings, coordination sessions, and site environments
  • An interest in improving how projects are delivered digitally
  • A practical mindset, focused on helping teams achieve real outcomes

Location & eligibility

  • Hybrid Brisbane-based role
  • Must have working rights within Australia
