Automotive Diagnostic Technician

Location: Artarmon NSW 2064. Details: Full Time | Mon – Fri | 8:00am – 4:00pm.

About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Diagnostic Technician to join our Artarmon workshop at Peugeot Australia. If you have a passion for problem‑solving, strong technical expertise, and take pride in delivering high‑quality workmanship, this is your opportunity to be part of a collaborative team working on premium vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair complex vehicle faults, including interpreting warning lights and system alerts.
  • Use advanced diagnostic tools and electronic systems to accurately identify issues.
  • Manage and escalating technical cases, including raising and tracking diagnostic tickets where required.
  • Carry out road tests to confirm fault resolution and ensure optimal vehicle performance.
  • Support and collaborate with the wider Service Team by providing technical expertise and guidance.
  • Take ownership of complex diagnostic work, applying strong problem‑solving skills to deliver high‑quality outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Motor Mechanic with a relevant trade certification (Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology or equivalent).
  • Proven experience as a Diagnostic Technician, ideally with 7+ years in the automotive industry.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving capability, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Self‑motivated, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical information.
  • A genuine commitment to delivering high‑quality workmanship and customer service.
  • Current and valid driver’s licence.
  • Experience working with European or Peugeot vehicles highly desirable.
  • Additional manufacturer training or certifications beyond Bronze level highly regarded.
