Mealtime Companionship for Dementia Care – HammondCare Wahroonga
Volunteer Opportunity – Support Mealtimes for People Living with Dementia
By assisting at 12pm (lunch) or 5pm (dinner), you’ll help create a calm, supportive, and enjoyable dining experience. This may include helping residents to the dining room, offering encouragement during meals, and providing a warm, friendly presence.
What’s involved:
- Volunteering during mealtimes (12pm or 5pm daily – choose what suits you)
- Supporting residents with gentle encouragement and conversation
- Being a calm and reassuring presence
- Whether you can give your time once a week or more often, your support will be truly valued.
Your impact: Boosting quality of life and reducing isolation.
Requirements
- 18 years or older
- National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare, plus NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Ideally available for an hour (or longer) at 12pm or 5pm, Monday to Friday (weekdays only)
