Overview
An exciting opportunity exists for a Casual Registered Nurse to join our Community Nursing and Palliative Care team based at Tomaree Community Hospital. This role offers a rewarding mix of home visits, clinic-based care, and virtual support, delivering person‑centred care across the beautiful Tomaree Peninsula and wider Port Stephens region.
About the Role
As a valued member of our small and supportive team, you will provide flexible, high‑quality nursing care across community and palliative settings. This is a casual, ad hoc position, offering shifts as required to support safe service delivery.
- Shifts available 7 days per week
- Hours typically between 8:00am – 4:30pm (some shorter 8:00am – 12:00pm shifts)
- Work across community nursing and/or palliative care services
About You
We are seeking a nurse who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about delivering care in the community.
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse (AHPRA)
- Experience in community nursing and/or palliative care or willingness to upskill quickly
- Confidence working independently, including with high‑risk medications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility and availability to work at short notice
- Sound IT skills, with the ability to learn new electronic medical record systems

Eligibility and Legal Information
To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport. This is a Category A position.
