SSTP Data Analyst – University of Melbourne

Role type: Full‑time; Fixed‑term – 1 year

Salary: A$111,275 – A$120,453 per annum plus 17% super

About the Program

The Student Services Transformation Program (SSTP) drives data‑driven decision‑making across student services. As a Data Analyst you will enable executive stakeholders to access actionable insights and support program initiatives through data products and dashboards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive data discovery, define business rules, and map data across multiple systems to inform solutions.
  • Design and develop Power BI dashboards and wireframes that translate analysis into clear executive insights.
  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders to document data and reporting requirements, ensuring accurate functional specifications.
  • Support program initiatives by managing data analysis components of projects and delivering cross‑functional insights.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Power BI; experience transforming complex data into actionable insights.
  • Strong presentation, analytical, and communication skills with a focus on collaboration.
  • Experience in source system analysis, data mapping, data wrangling, and developing business intelligence dashboards.
  • Familiarity with predictive models, AI/ML, and channel analysis is a plus.
  • Qualification in Information Technology, Business, or a related discipline preferred.
