The Opportunity

Veolia ANZ is seeking a driven National Business Development Manager to join our team in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane. If you're a true business development professional with a passion for hunting and winning new business at a national level, we want to hear from you!

In this crucial role, you'll spearhead business development activities across a vast array of potential clients nationally. Leveraging your B2B sales expertise, you'll maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities, devise strategies for target markets, articulate our competitive edge, and secure lucrative national contracts — driving growth and achieving ambitious targets. Internal and external stakeholder engagement is key to the success of this role.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Drive a robust pipeline of high-value client opportunities through in-depth prospect assessments
  • Develop competitive solutions, financial models, and winning proposals
  • Lead brand marketing, promotion, and tender efforts
  • Foster strong relationships with internal operations and leadership teams across the business

What you'll need to be successful

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in business (preferred) or equivalent 5+ years of experience
  • Waste industry experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Patience, resilience, and ability to manage change
  • Strong reasoning abilities for problem-solving and drawing valid conclusions
  • Solid commercial acumen and experience negotiating service contracts
  • Proven track record in sales/business development, achieving sales targets
  • Knowledge of budgeting process and implementing business KPIs
  • Knowledge of legal T&C and departures
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of current opportunities in Salesforce
