Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical ICU night shift position requiring an OH or compact RN license and at least 18 months of permanent ICU experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Medical ICU (MICU) of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule with 3 twelve-hour shifts from 7:00pm to 7:30am
• Floating required to all three ICUs and Emergency Departments for patient holds
• Care for critically ill adult patients in an intensive care environment
• Responsibilities include delivering specialized nursing care to critically ill patients and potentially assisting in other ICU and ED units as needed
• Assessment testing (ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate) is required during orientation, with two attempts permitted
• Nurses are temporarily exempt from nicotine-free policy
• Permanent and per diem staff may not return for 1 year after their last assignment at any facility in the system
• Four hours of training modules are required pre-start, with additional modules as needed
• Annual compliance modules are required if contract extends beyond one year
• Extensions available for up to 18 consecutive months, followed by a 6 month break

Requirements

• Active permanent Ohio or compact RN license in hand
• Current certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
• Minimum of 18 months of recent permanent ICU experience required before travel
• One recent reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, director, or charge RN in the specialty applying for is required for consideration
• Negative 10-panel and Nicotine (Cotinine) drug screen required within 12 months of start
• No open background or license cases accepted
