Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool RN with at least 2 years of pediatric ICU experience and required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool of a hospital setting
• Float to all pediatric units including CVPICU, NICU, and PICU as needed
• Care for critically ill pediatric patients with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3
• Scheduled for three 12-hour day shifts per week, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Will provide critical care nursing to a range of pediatric patients across multiple specialized units
• Modules must be completed before start date
• Block scheduling may be considered with manager's approval
• All RTO must be submitted upfront and is subject to unit approval
• Must live at least 60 miles from the facility for non-local status; locals considered on a case-by-case basis
• Previous permanent staff must have a one-year separation from the health system before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers accepted if experienced
• May be required to participate in emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November)

Requirements

• Active RN license in South Carolina or Compact state required
• Current American Heart Association BLS and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric ICU experience required
• Experience with ECMO and CRRT preferred
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
