Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Ithaca, NY 14850 (New York nursing jobs)
  
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (June 3, 2024 – September 2, 2024)
  
• Schedule: Day shift, Monday – Friday (no holidays)
  
• Hours: 40 hours per week
  
• Shifts: 5 shifts per week, 8 hour shifts
  
• Healthcare Setting: Outpatient Medical Office Building
  
• No on-call requirements
  
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,510 - $1,620
  

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
  
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
  
• Strong organizational and communication skills
  
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  
• Adaptability and willingness to learn new clinical skills in an outpatient environment
  

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate procedures (Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, Kidney Biopsies) and obtain prior authorizations
  
• Manage outpatient infusions (IV iron, blood transfusions, IV fluids, and more)
  
• Assist with in-office procedures, including TDC removal
  
• Communicate lab results and coordinate patient follow-up care
  
• Facilitate patient referrals (e.g., Davita/Fresenius) and provide patient education (Kidney Smart training)
  
• Arrange genetic testing and medication prior authorizations
  
• Set up venous mapping and support continuity of care for patients
