Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU position in Ohio requiring a valid OH or compact license and strong progressive care experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 22-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) serving adult and geriatric patients
• Patient population includes burns, plastic/reconstructive, urology, GYN, ENT, and oral/maxillofacial surgical cases
• Special procedures performed include burn dressings, flap checks, and leech therapy
• Uses EPIC for documentation and Pyxis for medication management
• 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) with every other or every third weekend required
• Float within the health system as needed
• Primary responsibilities include caring for complex surgical and medical PCU patients
• Support services include IV/pharmacy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, social work, transport, and rapid response teams
• Night shift assignment with rotating weekend coverage
• Fingerprints must be completed promptly as a compliance requirement following contract signature
• Locals are accepted at the same pay rate
• Time off requests must be submitted with initial availability and built into contract terms
• Former employees eligible after 6 months; current employees ineligible to be hired as travelers at this location

Requirements

• Active RN license for Ohio or a compact state, in hand at the time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Minimum 2 years recent PCU experience with similar patient population
• Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager, director, or formal supervisor
• Previous charge RN and teaching hospital experience preferred
