About The Role

As the Financial Accountant, you will maintain accuracy and integrity of financial transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. You will support the production of accurate, timely financial information for internal and external use, and help uphold the integrity of accounting records.

What You’ll Do

  • Preparation of month end journals.
  • Balance sheet reconciliation, including scheme receivables and chargebacks.
  • Scheme fees reconciliation and analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and other regulations.
  • Maintain accounting policies and process notes for changes in business.
  • Support internal and external audit processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, efficiencies and internal controls.
  • Other ad‑hoc analysis and project work as required.

What You’ll Bring

  • Relevant tertiary and professional qualifications (CA, CPA or equivalent).
  • Proven experience as a Financial Accountant or similar role (3‑5 years).
  • Solid understanding of Australian Accounting Standards (ASB/IFRS).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to solve problems with business impact.
  • Excellent time management and planning skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Experience with ERP accounting systems, data analytic tools and strong Excel skills.
  • Working knowledge of MySQL or Snowflake with ability to query.
  • Proactive and eager to learn and adapt to new challenges.
  • Previous payment industry experience would be ideal.
