AUB Group has exciting new opportunity for an experienced Financial Accountant to support the finance team on a permanent basis. The Financial Accountant is responsible for providing accurate and efficient accounting and tax services to our SURA entities and reports to the Senior Finance Manager – SURA Finance, to assist SURA management to make informed business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • This role will work with the finance team to ensure that Monthly Management Accounts are approved, finalised and submitted to the FP&A team, in addition to completion of month end reporting deadlines including balance sheet reconciliations, general journals, prepayments and accruals.
  • Compliance with all relevant statutory bodies including ASIC, ATO, OSR; ensure all lodgements are completed on time.
  • Accurate completion of BAS, Payroll tax, FBT and Income Tax returns and timely lodgement to ATO and OSR.
  • Prepare all half year and end of year statutory accounts, consolidation and reporting obligations within the AUB Group deadline.
  • Oversee the accounts payable process to ensure that invoices are paid on time.
  • Assist the Senior Manager in the preparation of monthly cashflow forecasts and annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Provide support to the team manager in identifying, designing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives within the Division.

Qualifications & Key Skills

We are ideally looking for someone with a qualification/certification in accounting with subsequent relevant experience in line with the above, as well as a proficient understanding of relevant legislation and policy frameworks.

  • Proficient organisational and time management skills with ability to deal with multiple entities’ tasks, establish priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient numeracy skills with the ability to understand and communicate financial information and administer budgets.
  • Developed written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate professionally with all levels of staff.
