The Role

As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for testing and validating critical data and system integrations that underpin the organisation’s data and analytics capabilities.

Your other responsibilities will include:

• Designing and executing test plans, test cases and scripts focused on data validation, system integration and reporting accuracy.
• Performing hands‑on testing across SQL Server, SAP HANA, Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI environments.
• Investigating data discrepancies through SQL queries, conducting root‑cause analysis, and collaborating with developers and data engineers to resolve issues.
• Supporting the data replatforming program by validating data transformations and reconciliations between legacy and new systems.
• Executing both manual and automated tests across applications, APIs, and data pipelines to ensure reliability and performance.
• Contributing to continuous improvement of QA practices and supporting the evolution of data quality assurance standards.

About You

In order to be a successful applicant, you will bring a strong foundation in data testing and a hands‑on approach to quality assurance within complex data environments.

You will also have:

• Proven experience in SQL‑based testing, with the ability to write and troubleshoot complex queries.
• Experience validating data pipelines, data models, and transformations across multiple environments.
• Exposure to testing front‑end reporting tools such as Power BI (Web Intelligence experience highly regarded).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a proactive, detail‑oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in agile teams.
• An interest in evolving toward test automation in the future, though with a current focus on manual and data‑centric testing.
• Be part of a growing QA function within a supportive and collaborative data engineering team.
