About the role
Effective stakeholder engagement is a core pillar of AEMO’s work. Our stakeholder environment is complex, crossing government, industry, consumers and community. High‑quality, proactive and consistent engagement will help AEMO to be a trusted partner with our stakeholders, to deliver better energy outcomes for consumers and the community.
This is an exciting opportunity to join AEMO’s Stakeholder Engagement Team, focused on the development of AEMO’s financial and investor relations and connections engagement strategies. You will focus on building AEMO’s financial confidence, and relationships and trust with investors, industry, the FCC, government and consumers. You will drive strategic, coordinated engagement with the broader investment market for the energy transition.
This role can be based across any AEMO site from Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide or Sydney with flexibility to work from home.
What you will be doing
- Develop and deliver leading stakeholder engagement strategies, plans, consultations and communications.
- Work closely with the GM Stakeholder Engagement to drive the setting of strategic objectives and KPIs at a divisional and corporate level.
- Work to both identify and proactively address stakeholder trends and issues, evaluate insights and feedback, and provide strategic advice and recommendations that serve to enhance AEMO’s relationships, trust and reputation with stakeholders, deliver better engagement and energy outcomes, and mitigate risks.
- Set and drive team outcomes, development, objectives, KPIs and performance.
- Represent AEMO in a range of public and industry forums.
What you will bring to the role
- Energy sector experience is preferred. However, investor relations engagement and communications expertise within a relevant ASX listed company will be considered.
- Experience in supporting investment‑related policy and reform highly desirable.
- Experience leading small to medium sized teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to advocate, negotiate and influence outcomes while maintaining strong working relationships.
- Resilience and diplomacy and the ability to negotiate creative compromises.
