Platform & Delivery Manager - ERP


Position Description

The Platform & Delivery Manager - ERP will provide architectural, functional and technical guidance for the design, build, and test of capabilities deployed on our core SAP Platforms, related applications and supporting environments. This role will work with internal and external resources to design our SAP environment and components needed to deliver a holistic solution to the business. This position will also provide technology leadership in the support of the overall IT strategy.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Evaluates emerging trends and regulatory / compliance guidance to develop the strategic plan for  the platform and to develop the  roadmap for the orderly transition to the future state over time   
  2. Leads the development of strategies, requirements, principles, models and designs for the platform 
  3. Prepares conceptual and logical models and disciplines involved in architecture, design, implementation, integration, and management of the platform 
  4. Utilizes knowledge of defined reference architectures, design patterns, technology trends and implementation experience in order to translate a business need into a solution blueprint that represents an end-to-end technical solution 
  5. Partners with IT team and business teams on systems solutions, and has responsibility for the completion of the following: solution design, development estimation, staffing approach, feasibility and needs/impact assessments, development, transition to production  and partner management including monitoring quality and adherence to standards 
  6. Coordinates and manages activities of a project team, controlling the indirect management of resources and schedules to ensure timely completion;  identifies and coordinates resolution of issues, reports progress, and  escalates problems
  7. Creates development standards and patterns for platform to ensure compliance with best practices and applicable policies.  Monitor team and vendor adherence to standards
  8. Lead team of internal and external solution architects, development leads and technical analysts 
  9. Perform full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching, and developing employees; scheduling/planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA; performance management; department budget, department metrics/status month reporting
  10. Performs other duties as assigned

Job Skills Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable presenting technical designs / solutions  to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to lead discussions with top management in the organization and within partner organizations 
  • Experience in planning, executing, managing and tracking software development.  Including leading of software development projects and teams.  Experience with leading distributed development teams is a plus
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority 
  • Experience in managing SAP licensing usage and maintenance and compliance
  • Ability to design and implement enterprise level technology solutions with a solid understanding of the development and QA standards for the platform
  • Broad understanding of software architecture methodologies
  • Knowledge of present and emerging SAP capabilities, competitive and complementary products, product providers/partners of the assigned platform 
  • Depth and Breadth of knowledge of SAP, including cross-functional knowledge of enterprise processes enabled and controlled by SAP, methodologies, standards, products and frameworks
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent education and experience

Experience Requirements

  • 10 plus years of experience in the Information technology profession focused on SAP ERP design and management
  • 5 to 6 years of experience in within discrete manufacturing organizations
  • 3 to 4 years of experience with S4/Hana
  • 1 to 3 years of SAP EWM functional design and implementation experience
  • Experience in implementing large and complex SAP Projects, and designing solutions to meet business requirements
  • PMI certification or equivalent preferred
