The Internal Auditor is responsible for conducting financial and operational audits by examining and verifying accounting, statistical, or operational records and/or procedures to determine the reliability and effectiveness of financial and control systems. Prepares reports of findings and recommendations to management.

  • Plans the objectives and scope of audits and examinations. Prepares and issues final audit reports. Performs follow up for management’s action plan to audit.
  • Identifies control weaknesses and proposes solutions that result in more efficient operational processes.
  • Identifies inefficient procedures and recommends cost control/saving measures.
  • Assists external auditors in the annual review of the Corporation’s financial reporting and benefits administration. Assists government auditors in their review of tie recording, government property and other government reporting activities.
  • Conducts risk assessment surveys to identify and measure risks in established operating areas. Assists in the development and execution of a comprehensive audit plan based on risk assessment and management’s goals and objectives.



  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6 or more years of relevant experience in either finance, accounting, or audit with at least 1-2 years of those years within an audit capacity.
  • Experience with internal audit processes
  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel



  • Fraud, waste and abuse investigative experience 
  • Experience with SAP, Conur and Process Director
  • Must work well in a team environment
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and projects
  • Must possess strong organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects at one time
  • Effective interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts and work with other internal and external organizations
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt to changing organizational needs
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Customer service orientation
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision, to self-initiate activities, and to work within timelines
  • Must possess time management and project management skills
  • Some Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) experience
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or other
