WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We take the accuracy, completeness and compliance of our medical records very seriously. We require Health Information Management to do the same. This a true data management job – from compiling reports to presenting analysis in front of upper management. It requires a system data expert with great communication skills and sound judgment.

 

Are you detail-oriented? Do you have experience with medical record review, security and management? Do you enjoy processing data and overseeing its use? We need your skills. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Support the HIM department to ensure compliance and complete and accurate medical records for each patient seen.
  • Responsible for all HIM activities related to DNFB – missing dictation, missing orders, missing documentation, etc.
  • Generate, interpret and analyze trends and display/disseminate information in order to support decisions and effect improvements in quality, productivity, compliance daily activities.
  • Run department statistics and report to appropriate committees.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on HIM orders-based workflows
  • Monitor Epic DNFB specific workqueues
  • Provide DNFB-related education to both internal and external departments
  • Assists manager with projects, committees and activities
  • Works with providers and department leadership to ensure the timely completion of missing documentation
  • Identifies and processes improvements to the HIM/Coding workflow, especially as it relates to missing documentation and DNFB
  • Assists with the development and maintenance of policies, procedures and educational material related to documentation completion and the DNFB workflow.
  • Train clinical departments on HIM coding workflows as it relates to DNFB and missing documentation
  • Assist with the training and educational for onboarding clinical department staff

WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED

  • Communicate clearly with clinical department staff, co-workers, and all levels of management that impacted by DNFB.
  • Work independently following established policies, procedures, and practices. 
  • Adjust to situation involving repetitive, short-cycle operations.
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Careful attention to detail and thorough in completing work tasks
  • Very knowledgeable with Microsoft Office- Excel tool


 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
 

 

2-3 Years Experience in Acute Care Setting Preferred

Certification(s): RHIT or RHIA Required
