HR Manager

Strong leadership, management, and customer service are the heart of our operations at XPO Logistics. As the HR Manager, District you will be responsible for driving profit in the district through the effective application of human resources activities and programs. You will also partner with the Director of HR (DHR), District General Manager (DGM), and district leadership team to ensure a differentiated and engaged workforce.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Partner with DGM and DHR to identify and implement HR interventions that have a direct impact on the profitability of the district; propel communication activities in coordination with local and district management
  • Drive performance and talent management processes in the district
  • Investigate and resolve employee relations issues that arise in the service centers
  • Manage HR Representatives in the district ensuring professional HR support in each facility
  • Coach and counsel management and hourly employees regarding policies and procedures, discipline, interpersonal, and teamwork opportunities
  • Promote employee engagement through regular, personal contact with employees resulting in a positive employee relations atmosphere
  • Drive effective recruiting, selection, and onboarding activities for salaried employees and oversee hourly hiring by HR Reps and local management
  • Deliver Less-than-Truckload (LTL) and company HR initiatives in the district; act as champion of XPO values and demonstrate them regularly
  • Ensure compliance with all company, government, labor and transportation industry regulations; deliver training to maintain compliance
  • Manage numerous reporting activities in a timely and professional manner

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
  • 5 years in Human Resources in complex environments with 3 years in a supervisory role 
  • Proficiency in HRMS, Microsoft Office Suite, and related HR software
  • Demonstrated ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential information
  • Ability to travel 50-75% to service centers and other locations

It’d be great if you also have:

  • HR certification
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and listening skills
  • Strong overall business and financial acumen
