The GetThere Site Manager role has responsibility for a defined group of customers to ensure overall online booking site optimization while achieving high levels of customer satisfaction.  The Site Manager is a technical expert for GetThere who can also establish and maintain great customer relationships.  Site Managers learn the intricacies of their customers' travel programs as well as agency operational requirements to proactively match site functionality to customer needs.  Through this knowledge and relationship building they consult with the customer on recommended best practices and also quickly execute requested site administration actions.

Site responsibilities include items such as data uploads, messaging, policy, preferred vendors, feature additions, feature changes, profile management, PNR Edit programming, preview environment testing, and even new site creation using standardized processes and documentation. Site Managers often act as a facilitator between our internal teams, the customer, the customer’s agency along with any related third parties. 

This particular position within the team primarily serves our direct corporate customers across the globe with focus in the North America region while also collaborating with teammates holding similar roles in 5 other countries.  Along with strong technical skills, the successful candidate must demonstrate an ability to organize, manage, and communicate effectively to drive projects accordingly.  Site Managers are also trusted participants in our Stakeholder process internally during feature development.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with online booking tool site administration: Knowledge of GetThere Site Administration, configuration options, and best practices including ability to read and write PNR and Profile Edit command strings.
  • Strong analytical and general technical skills including minimal level of HTML and general programming logic use.
  • Experience and confidence offering solutions or demonstrations in a group environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office suite including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Successful prior customer consultation and/or direct interaction experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of agency reservation fulfillment as well as multiple GDS system functionality.
  • Fluent, professional written and spoken English communication skills at a minimum.
  • Proven record in managing multiple customer facing projects in the capacity of project leader
  • Strong planning and organization skills combined with excellent time management

Preferred

  • Minimum 3 years related experience.
  • Knowledge of GetThere Project Life Cycle: Working knowledge of phases of the project life cycle, including customer requirements gathering, creating a project scope and project plan, consultation of online booking best practices, site configuration, and testing - including functional, systems, and integration implementation/delivery and maintenance.
  • Corporate Online Travel: Functional experience implementing and supporting corporate online travel websites is preferred
  • Travel agency, GDS or corporate travel department experience a plus
  • Knowledge of project management principals, practices and procedures
  • Other language skills such as Spanish and/or Portuguese are a plus in addition to strong spoken and written English
