Primary Function

As the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for the business relationships with wholesalers and contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Generate "pull through" demand from end users; installing contractors, builders and engineers by developing specifications, providing technical training, product knowledge seminars and solutions to their problems
  • Secure product listings and build distributor's inventory to suit field demand
  • Monitor customer preferences and/or market trends
  • Resolve product problems and provide technical support (service, sizing, etc.)
  • Developing and implementing sales and marketing plans to grow market share
  • Assist customers with equipment selection and application
  • Advise dealers and distributors on A.O. Smith policies and operating procedures 
  • Represent company at trade association meetings and industry meetings  to promote products
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned as necessary

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience
  • Effective communication skills and strong customer service skills
  • Strong technical background in water heating or related field
  • Ability to develop, understand, and deliver technical presentations
  • Participation in various industry associations
  • Planning and forecasting skills
  • Ability to develop and implement business plans
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a sales team
  • Excellent management skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Products is required

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of sales experience in water heating or related industry preferred

Education

Some College in Related Field or Engineering
