We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Maintenance Reliability Engineer to join us in our Gas West Asset Engineering and Project Delivery team in Perth on a full time permanent basis. Reporting to the Team Leader Asset Engineering WA, you will play a key role in leading the end-to-end process of asset lifecycle, including asset creation and maintenance strategy development, ensuring assets are accurately listed & classified, assessed for criticality, assigned appropriate maintenance regimes, integrated into operational schedules with robust job plans and work instructions and ultimately reflected in Maximo.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate inputs from project and operations stakeholders for asset creation, classification, and hierarchy management in Maximo, including metadata updates.
- Lead asset criticality assessments, workshops, and consolidation, ensuring accurate reflection in Maximo.
- Develop, review, and validate maintenance strategies, job plans, and work instructions, including bundling PMs and aligning with operational schedules.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Maintain compliance with APA governance processes, including MOC, obligations registers, and other regulatory requirements.
- Support the Asset Planning and Performance Team with project prioritisation, and manage associated drawings, tools, and parts lists.
Your background
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with strong experience in maintenance, reliability, and asset engineering.
- Proven experience across the end-to-end asset lifecycle, including asset creation, criticality assessment, and asset handover to operations.
- Strong knowledge of pipeline and facility assets, including compressor stations, delivery stations, valves, and linear assets.
- Experienced in asset management, maintenance strategy development, and continuous improvement, with hands-on CMMS expertise.
- Advanced user of IBM Maximo, including asset hierarchy, metadata management, criticality setup, and planned maintenance/job plan creation.
- Solid understanding of Management of Change (MOC), obligations management, and compliance with governance frameworks.

The Gas West Asset Engineering and Project Delivery team exists to provide engineering and project delivery services to ensure reliable and safe operation of the APA Business Unit Gas West assets. The team enables APA to achieve its business strategy and goals, extract maximum value from its assets, and deliver value for its customers. The team consists of Asset Engineering, Facilities Engineering, Major Maintenance and Gas East West Emergency Services.
