Purchasing Manager

Due to aggressive growth initiatives, we are adding a Purchasing Manager role. In this role, you will lead a group of 5 Buyers and support company financial objectives and customer fill rates while controlling or reducing product costs. Purchasing spend is expected to increase by 30% over the next 5 years due to strategic growth plans.  


Scope of responsibility will include

  • Achievement of annual inventory turns and fill rate objectives.
  • Coach, manage, and direct Buyers’ performance regarding supplier negotiations, service levels, and terms and conditions
  • Continuous improvement of purchasing processes and systems in line with changing organizational needs and market conditions
  • Cross-functional partnership with Product Management, Quality Assurance, marketing and Sales on quality specifications, promotions, new product introductions, and required inventory to support initiatives
  • Development of competitive secondary and third-tiered sources including global sources for major product lines. Identification of manufacturers as primary suppliers of Imperial branded products



Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of product or services purchasing experience and operational supervisory work experience required. Effective verbal and written communication skills, experience with personal or network computer purchasing systems and Excel/Office programs, advanced math/statistical knowledge, proven negotiation and networking skills required. The ability to establish departmental priorities and deadlines to achieve multiple goals is essential to success in this role.
