Manager Engineering

 

Function Overview:

This role will serve as a technical individual contributor as well as leading a group of technical resources. Accountable for overseeing Production Parts Approval Process (PPAP) and day to day inspection methods and quality reporting of parts/equipment. Responsible for implementing new inspections methods within Clyde Manufacturing

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead group of Skilled Technicians in the Metrology Department
  • Set team goals and objectives as well as lead performance and coaching reviews
  • Lead projects and special assignments as needed
  • Work with Advanced Manufacturing Group to ensure new measurement processes are being developed

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • 10+ years of Manufacturing Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Personal Computer Dimensional Measurement Inspection Software (Pc-Dmis), and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)) Application

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • Six Sigma trained and Certified  Black Belt
  • Ability to read and translate Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, (GD&T), apply into Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and other measurement applications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and team building skills with the ability to work in a team environment
  • Firsthand knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Parts Approval Process (PPAP), Control Plans, Measurement System Evaluation (MSE), Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Proven ability to create and lead cross-functional teams to resolve issues and provide results
  • Excellent planning and project management
  • Familiar with other inspection and data collection software such as Polyworks and Qc-Calc software
