Description

Based in St. Bruno, Quebec, you will be responsible for sub-categories within the main category of Industrial and Consumables Equipment (ICE) averaging a spend between $60 to $100M. Such sub-categories, to name a few, include major tooling and large manufacturing equipment, machinery, maintenance repair and operations (MRO) consumables and other operations’ services and products. As a member of the strategic procurement and category team, you will contribute to the development and implementation of the categories’ strategies. Your project portfolios will include strategic initiatives developed and led by IGS Procurement, as well as initiatives driven by the Operations’ requirements.

In your role, you will:

- Identify and drive the strategic procurement activities and category management efforts that will yield cost reductions and Total Cost of Ownership benefits, regionally and at times, globally;
- Develop project plans to ensure timely implementation of various strategies and initiatives to ensure that business unit(s) reap the benefits;
- Deliver savings and cost reductions as committed to the bottom line of the company and contribute to the development of the IGS organization;
- Engage stakeholders and obtain buy-in by involving them throughout the entire process and communicating regularly with them through governances and relationship building;
- Select key suppliers and manage the relationship through regular business;
- Ensure that risk management and compliance standards are rigorously and consistently applied across all contracts with our supply base;
- Be responsible for contract negotiations and contract management.

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate:

- You hold a university degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or equivalent discipline;
- You hold a minimum of six (6) or more years in Strategic sourcing and procurement and/or category management;
- You are an accomplished strategic procurement professional familiar with sourcing processes and project management, to ultimately deliver cost reductions to the organization while supporting various stakeholders (i
t is an asset if you have delved in procurement activities related to Tooling, jigs, fixtures, manufacturing machines, consumables and the likes);
- You have solid negotiation skills and solid contract writing and contract management skills;
- You can drive and lead complex, cross-functional, sourcing projects, as well as be able to manage more operationally flavored initiatives, all within a matrix organization;
- You have a proven ability to influence stakeholders to ensure buy-in and compliance;
- You own good relationship management and people skills;
- You are a team player with demonstrated flexibility and respect for deadlines;
- You possess a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite;
- You own the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization, in both French and English.
- You have excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written (French and German are an asset).
