Position Overview

Under the direction of the Children’s Centre Coordinator, the Early Childhood Educator attends to the care and learning of the children at the Children’s Centre.  The ECE must encourage and role-model their skills to all CCA’s on the childcare team.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a child care setting an asset

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Successful completion of a recognized Early Childhood Educator II program  and completed or willing to complete the 40 hour course requirements for working in a Children Centre

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Must have First Aid and CPR

Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrates ability to relate effectively to children, parents and community
  • Demonstrates a calm and confident manner during difficult situations
  • Demonstrates ability in planning activities for children
  • Maintains confidentiality with all information entrusted to the position
  • Represents the Churchill RHA in a professional and positive manner

  • Possible contact with children with aggressive behaviour
