Manufacturing Technician  (Melt Technician) – Goshen, IN

The Melt Technician plays a key role on the manufacturing team. Duties of the Melt Technician include:

  • Set-up, operate, and control resistance melting furnace, induction melting furnaces and computer-controlled atomization tower, atomization tooling and equipment
  • Observe and record data, using various instruments, such as pyrometers, gas analyzers, meters, and charts
  • Maintain, rebuild and/or reline pouring pots, ladles, chips; grind graphite crucibles, furnaces and other refractory and graphite shapes
  • Differentiate and identify materials; identify, separate, weigh and make proper disposition of good and scrap material and keep appropriate records
  • Operate various materials handling equipment, such as jib cranes, forklift trucks, walking lift trucks, and floor controlled cranes

 

Experience and Requirements:

 

  • Ability to work with precision and hand tools and possess a working knowledge of more complex equipment and machinery; ability to use instruments such as pyrometers, gas analyzers, and meters
  • Prior manufacturing plant experience 
  • Experience using cranes, tow motors or similar equipment
  • High school diploma or GED
