Work Study Student

College of Arts & Sciences – Political Sciences


The College of Arts & Sciences, Department of Political Science is seeking two Work Study students to provide administrative support to the Program Coordinator and to function as the Main Department Office contact.  Duties will include answering phones, responding to email queries, answering questions and providing Political Science program information to walk-in traffic, responding to faculty requests, sorting mail, scanning documents into PDF files, making document copies for seminar or lecture events and undergraduate workshops, and performing other administrative support duties as assigned.


12 - 15 hours per week


$10.00 per hour


Skills and Qualifications:  The ideal Work Study student would have good communication skills, basic computer skills, and basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.  Previous general office work experience would be a plus, but is not necessary. 


Required Student Financial Aid and VISA Status:  Eligible students must have received a Work Study Award Letter as part of their 2018-2019 Federal Financial Aid packet.  Due to Federal regulations, students in the United States on F-1 and J-1 Visas are not eligible for Work Study job positions.  Eligible students with VISA status must have a VISA that allows them to receive United States Federal Work Study Financial Aid.
