Coordinator, Bakery - Logistics

Logistics Coordinator


Position Purpose

To perform an administrative role, responsible for all aspects of frozen shipping department

Key Accountabilities

Ensuring internal and external CTQ’s are met, and exceeded


  • Ensure suppliers are aware of all plant GMP, food safety, and OH&S requirements
  • Ensure driver ID log and trailer seal log are maintained
  • Create stock transfers in the SAP system as required
  • Seal outside carriers as required
  • Maintain cost analysis and accrual files
  • Deliver results on budget
  • Timely and accurate completion of all administrative transactions
  • Participate in inventories as required
  • Analyze supplier performance
  • Participate in process improvement and cost reduction
  • Maintain and analyze freight KPI’s
  • Schedule appointments and organize dock management
  • Adhere to all applicable job procedures as outlined in SOP manual
  • Adhere to GMPs and Health and Safety rules as outlined in employee handbook
    • Keep work area clean and clear of hazards
    • Report any unsafe conditions, incidents or injuries to supervisor immediately
    • Use all prescribed personal protective equipment
  • Ensure GMP’s and safe food handling practices are being followed
    • All tools to be cleaned and maintained in good repair. Report any broken, damaged, or missing tools to your supervisor. Do not discard any damaged or broken tools.
    • Follow all GMPs including maintaining personal hygiene, hand washing/sanitizing hands, clean up spills (i.e., ingredients, water, debris and wood)
    • Report any foreign material findings to your supervisor
    • Report all ceiling leaks to your supervisor
    • As part of food security, report any unusual people or behavior to your supervisor
  • Perform all other duties assigned


Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • CITT or P.Log designation
  • High School Diploma
  • Understanding of transportation industry (preferably perishable freight)
  • Knowledge of refrigerated warehousing (internal and 3PW)
  • Knowledge of customs and cross border documentation requirements
  • Ability to analyze numbers and make decisions based on statistical data 
  • Strong computer skills (i.e. MS applications, Email, etc)
  • GMP and safety awareness
  • SAP Knowledge
