Business Development Rep

Donnelley Financial Solutions is seeking talented and motivated professionals to work directly with the client's sales and marketing team to target, message and sell to key decision makers, while helping manage and grow DFS's client relationships.

 

The primary role of the Business Development Executive is to prospect for new clients by networking, cold calling, advertising or other means of generating interest from potential clients. They must then plan persuasive approaches and pitches that will convince potential clients to do business with the company. They must develop a rapport with new clients, and set targets for sales and provide support that will continually improve the relationship. They are also required to grow and retain existing accounts by presenting new solutions and services to clients.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • A goal-oriented work ethic, committed to achieving performance objectives, individually and as part of your team
  • Hunt – Research companies for the key decision-makers whose responsibilities are the best match for DFS client's services
  • Message – Leverage data from clients and peers to craft insightful talking points, emails and voicemails which will resonate with your prospects
  • Contact – Access and initiate peer to peer conversations with senior executives by phone, email and social media
  • Commit – Gather valuable insights through further conversation, effective questions, and set up introductory sales meetings
  • Collaborate – Brainstorm with peers, coaches and clients to improve tactics, market strategy and business acumen
  • Build and maintain a strong understanding of the product and services associated with the DFS products.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with sales delivery team members including Regional Managing Directors, field Sales Executives, and Deal Managers within your territory
  • Manage and track sales opportunities and forecasts within Salesforce.com, providing reports to the Director of Sales as requested
  • Manage a complex sales cycle, starting with the needs assessment process for each prospect, identifying pain points and determining the fit for our solutions
  • Educate prospects on the value of our solutions and offerings and how it addresses their needs
  • Identify various buying roles within each prospect account and develop a suitable sales execution plan
  • Unbridled curiosity about the business world, and a passion for how sales and marketing can revolutionize it.

 

Required Skills:

  • Ability to prospect, develop and book meetings/ demos for the sales team to enable them generate pipeline and increase revenue.
  • Thorough understanding of the enterprise software needs of finance and compliance teams
  • General understanding of the financial and/or regulatory disclosure process is highly desired
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven track record of B2B solution selling, addressing the needs of various business users to the C-suite
  • Demonstrated ability to sell to all levels of management.
  • Experience tracking a sales pipeline using sales automation software (Salesforce.com preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
