Position Description:• Is the Lead Manufacturing Representative/Integrator for new products into manufacturing• Project leader for late stage new products.• Participates in, and leads, investigations and resolution of new product quality and cost opportunities.• Responsible for the improvement of systems and processes related to new products particularly related to safety, quality and cost.• Responsible for fundamental process understanding and lowest cost producer objectives.• Supports the development and execution of plans to evaluate new technology, or improvements in existing technology, resulting in a superior product in terms of quality and/or cost.Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Assists in the identification and closure of gaps to required quality and cost performance.

• Ensures effective change management, including assessment of impact of changing customer requirements on

process and cost.

• Works with other team members to solve difficult technical, engineering related problems.

• Drives team to fundamental process understanding and lowest cost producer objectives.

• Uses appropriate statistical tools and data, as well as Designed Experiments (DOE) in process problem solving and process/product improvement, as needed.

• Assures quality and repeatability of processes and products.

• Ensures safety of operators and equipment and Complies with safety and environmental regulations.

• Develops SME knowledge of material, process and/or equipment in focused areas of manufacturing or engineering.

• Executes cost reduction and improvement (DMAIC) projects in line with business objectives.

• Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

Within Group: You will be working in a fast paced manufacturing environment.

Travel Requirements: You can expect less than 10% travel.

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: Your typical work schedule will be 8-5pm M-F although you should expect to have flexibility for off shift and weekend coverage is expected to support project assignments including overtime.

Minimum Required Education and Experience:

BS degree in Engineering with 2 years of manufacturing experience and:

• Technical Curiosity - The ability to learn new technology and processes quickly

• Matrix Leadership – Direct and indirect project and/or project ownership

• Data/Problem Solving Skills, including structured problem solving and project management methodologies

• Manufacturing experience, desire, and ability to work in a fast paced production environment

• Quality/Cost focus and understanding

• Strong technical fundamentals with process engineering skills.

• Strong working knowledge of MS Excel, including formulas and graphing functions and practical experience with basic statistics, familiarity with advanced statistical methods.

• Demonstrated leadership or teamwork in accomplishing common goals.

• Basic knowledge of Six Sigma (DMAIC) methodology.

Desired skills:• Six Sigma Green Belt trained• Knowledge of ceramic manufacturing processesSoft Skills:
