Demand & Capacity Planning Front-End Analyst

Purpose:  Provide and manage analytical and project related support for Indy’s end-to-end business, demand and capacity planning, order fulfillment operations, and associated improvement initiatives.   Participate in the transformation of Indy’s business decision making process, longer term planning, and day-to-day operational execution through increased transparency and awareness of adidas INDY business objectives and associated commitments. Gain an end-to-end understanding of adidas INDY’s core business/order fulfillment/customer service processes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Ownership – Ensure all data gathered to drive Strategic Operations & Capacity Planning decisions is accurate, timely, relevant, and attained in the most efficient manner.  Convert and present data into meaningful formats that are both user-friendly and impactful for driving decisions. Manage data procurement processes and associates as required.  Work with IT regularly to develop/improve tools to gather data, improving our efficiency and the accuracy/impact of data.
  • Manufacturing and Distribution Capacity Emphasis – Gain understanding, quantify availabilities, and prepare regular plans to optimize adidas INDY’s utilization of internal, domestic, and overseas capacities.  Develop, clarify, and assist in communicating service level commitments to adidas sales channel owners, NA Supply Chain, and Sourcing. 
  • Sales & Operations Planning – Learn and participate in the annual and on-going (monthly) operational & sales fulfilment planning whereby forecasted demand (sales) is layered against available supply (capacity).  Attend monthly league sales manager and sales channel owner demand reviews to gain insight on forecasted volumes and develop capacity plans and business commitments. Compose and provide reporting for playback of performances against plan and motivate action plans for improvement.
  • Non-Workable Orders – Manage weekly process of providing visibility to ‘non-workable’ order demand.  Communicate to and follow up with all dependency groups and/or stakeholders.  Gain understanding of reliable means to predict when inventory and art dependencies will be resolved, and assist in devising plan in advance for peaks and valleys in capacity demands. 
  • Sales, Go-to-market, and Operational strategy meeting support – Prep relevant reports and slide decks as needed to support decision making workshops with NA Supply Chain, Global Sourcing, and Indy functional areas.  Gain experience and develop skills in the decision-making process.  
  • Software System Install Assistance – Assist business process owners (BPO) with deliverables related to software tools, ERP AFS install & operation, MFG PP/MES, & Dist.-Op WMS.  Participate in defining requirements, partner and support operational project managers, and gain understanding of source-to-pay and order-to-cash business flows.


  • Lead Time Awareness – Participate in facilitating a dependable operational structure to create, communicate, and execute credible lead time commitments.  Learn protocol and rules for in-house capacity utilization versus contractors.



  • Build relationships and provide supporting reports for adidas NA Deployment activities as well as adidas USTS operations.  Become a resource for communication activities with other adidas NA facilities
  • Track and account for service level reporting by adidas sales channel.
  • Own mechanisms to publish agreed upon rules (SLA’s) as well as KPI feedback loops to stakeholders.
  • Quantify and make visible challenges as related to Art and Inbound Supply Chain. Assist in influencing dependability of Art Due Dates and ETA’s of inventory arrivals.
  • Participate in devising a quantifiable model of reliable capacity (by month) for our entire capacity chain.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Five years of experience at adidas INDY or other MFG/Dist. company. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree. 
  • Advanced degree a plus.
