Job Purpose

Co-ordinate and execute the testing of small to large size projects using multiple delivery channels, across various platforms, configurations and environments.  Provide input regarding the assessment of the risk and quality of changes and enhancements to more than 100 existing applications and processes, which support the domestic bank network & supporting units.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Co-ordinate testing for projects/releases:
    • Review project documentation and provide risk analysis from a testing perspective to management
    • Prepare User Acceptance Testing (UAT) test plans; test documentation (test functions, test cases, scripts), based upon risk                      analysis to ensure optimal use of testing time while adhering to UAT policies, standards and procedures
    • Prepare scope documents, signoff documents and other supporting project documentation as required
    • Provide management with the status of project progress on an ongoing basis
    • Execute and verify the results of UAT tests and take appropriate action; work closely with the development group to resolve defects; escalate issues to management when necessary; contribute to recommendations to release the code to Production
    • Prepare and provide test evidence for compliance related changes, i.e., Sarbanes-Oxley, Anti-Money Laundering, Basel
  • Develop application and process expertise within UAT; provide hands on training on systems, hardware, environment, product, standards, and methodology to other analysts as required
  • Work as a team player on individual project teams to ensure business requirements are met; provide management with recommendations and risk assessments as required
  • Develop and maintain a good working knowledge of assigned applications, UAT code configuration, system integration, environment resources and code delivery process
  • May be required to prepare & forecast workday estimates based upon project documentation
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to enhance personal breadth and depth of expertise and proactively apply knowledge on the job; identify and recommend enhancements or modifications to UAT processes in an effort to continually improve overall department efficiency and effectiveness

Education/ Experience

 

  • Capability to co-ordinate multiple projects and assignments concurrently
  • In-depth understanding of a broad range of assigned banking applications and their interfaces.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Testing methodology, procedures and standards.
  • Assess individual project needs; work closely with Development, Configuration/Code Management and environment teams to establish, coordinate and ensure a stable environment for conducting QA tests.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and decisively to changing priorities
  • Experience working on projects implemented using agile methodology
  • Hands on experience working with JIRA, Confluence and HPALM. 
  • Ability to perform risk based business applications testing with Web interfaces, GUI, and green screen emulation.
  • Basic-good understanding of code management, server and applications layering, environment configuration and databases.
  • Good working knowledge of PCs and department-related software.
  • Ability to use automated drivers for project testing; able to appropriately assess their value to a particular release and employ them accordingly.
  • Agile methodology (learned or part of previous agile teams)
  • Undergraduate degree
