Respiratory Care Tech-Registry

Currently enrolled in a CoARC approved program for Respiratory Care. Completion of second semester studies Strong interpersonal, clinical, problem solving, team building and communication skills.

Must work well under stressful situations.
Current Certification of Basic Life Support.
A.Candidate must be willing to change work hours within the assigned shift, change assigned shift, orientate to and work in all hospital areas, and integrate back into routine operations if special programs are dissolved based on the needs of the hospital, department, work volume and/or patient census.

B.Candidate must be willing to attend all mandatory educational activities and associate meetings, perform basic and intensive respiratory care procedures, act as a resource for physician, nursing and ancillary personnel in regard to respiratory care practices and maintain a current up~to~date standard of respiratory care practice.

C.Candidate must be able to function under stressful, fast paced conditions, communicate in a professional, knowledgeable, respectful manner with superiors, peers, and external employee members and foster a team~building environment when performing job functions.

D.Candidate must be able to perform physical tasks in order to provide respiratory care services such as bending, lifting, climbing, pushing, and being able to respond quickly to emergencies. Candidate must also have full range and motion of hands in order to perform delicate invasive procedures and certain therapy modalities requiring the use of hands, such as chest physical therapy and arterial blood gas acquisition.
If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.

To evaluate, administer, and monitor general care respiratory care services and to ensure that appropriate and effective respiratory care is being provided under the direction of the department's Medical Director and the supervision of the Respiratory Care Supervisor, Lead Therapist, or Charge Therapist.

Accountabilities:
Under the supervision of a Licensed Practitioner, provide age~specific routine respiratory care procedures to patients as directed and prescribed by physicians and/or in accordance with approved and established protocols.
Under the supervision of a Licensed Practitioner provide age~specific intensive respiratory care procedures to patients as directed and prescribed by physicians and/or in accordance with approved and established protocols.
Under the supervision of a Licensed Practitioner provide highly specialized, highly technical respiratory care procedures as directed and prescribed by the physician and/or in accordance with approved and established protocols.
